The UCLA GCRC Core Laboratory provides physicians and researchers with an array of sample processing options with its on-site facilities which are located adjacent to the nurse's station at the Center for the Health Sciences (27-066 CHS Bldg) on the 2nd floor and at the Ronald Reagan Medical Center on the 6th floor West wing Suite 6235A. Both GCRC laboratory processing stations are equipped with a refrigerated centrifuge, Bio-safety hood or protective shield, refrigerators, and -70° C freezers.
After explicit written instructions are received by the laboratory staffs or nurses (available on operating hours only), samples can be separated, aliquotted and stored according to specific instructions for the study.
This facility operates under the general provisions that govern core laboratories. Core laboratories are designed to support on-going sophisticated clinical research studies and the development or validation of new methods for this purpose.
